Enrollment and Application Process

To apply for the program, please complete the following items before the deadline:

1. Complete the 2025 Student Enrollment Form which includes the following:
   1. Statement of Purpose:
      1. Prompt: Please share with us your past and present academic history and other experiences which you feel have prepared you for the UCSB-Smithsonian Scholars Program. What do you hope to accomplish through the UCSB-Smithsonian Scholars Program?
      2. Format: 1,000-word limit and must include an introduction, body, and conclusion
   2. Reference: Provide a reference from any academic institution (college/university) you have attended that can highlight your academic achievements and character. We will ask them to complete a short reference via email.
   3. Transcripts: Upload your unofficial transcripts to Google Drive and provide a sharable link.
   4. Optional: Upload your resume to Google Drive and provide a sharable link.
2. Once the application deadline is closed, the program coordinator will schedule an appointment for an online professional interview.
